Mads Mikkelsen Hopeful For a Fourth Season of Hannibal

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”13468″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While Sir Anthony Hopkins will always be our Hannibal on the big-screen, Mads Mikkelsen did a fantastic job in filling Hopkins’s shows for the TV version of the well-known horror character. While the series, ran by The Punisher’s Steve Lightfoot; was canceled after three seasons, Mikkelsen does hold out hope that at some time we could get a fourth season:

“I think there’s always new hope. I haven’t heard anything specific. I know [creator] Bryan [Fuller] is still working on some ideas where we can find a new home for this. I also have a strong feeling that everybody who was involved in it would gladly pick up the glove again if that happens.” – Mikkelsen told Bloody Disgusting.

While the series never got great ratings on NBC, despite cultivating a following; people wonder if streaming services like Hulu or Netflix could step in to save the day very much like they’ve done for Lucifer:

“I don’t know where they looked,” Mikkelsen noted. “That is above my paycheck, but I know they’ve been talking to different studios.”

Mikkelsen also added that another Hannibal movie was being considered when the show was canceled:

“I know that [Fuller] was working to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs so he could get in there and use some of those characters for his own universe,” Mikkelsen explained. “I have a hunch that might be where we’re going.”

Would you like to see another season of Hannibal or another movie that would feature Mikkelsen reprising his role? Let us know!
