The report even indicates that Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali is wanted by Ryan Coogler for a role but Ali’s former involvement with Luke Cage might be an issue. Honestly I don’t see why since Netflix has cancelled all of its Marvel shows.
The list also goes on to name several others being eyed for the film including Halle Berry, who is the favorite according to the writer, Thandie Newton and more. Check out the list for Black Panther below
Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Angela Basset, Winston Duke, Daniel Kaluuya and Martin Freeman will return. Ryan Coogler wanted Mahershala Ali for a role, but his involvement with Luke Cage might prevent that. Halle Berry, Naomie Harris, Regina King, Thandie Newton and Mary J. Blige (among others) are being eyed for a role. From my understanding, Berry is the top choice.
This list follows many others from a poster on 4Chan and so far none of these rumors have been verified but if this is indeed true then they are looking at some great cast members for the second film. Fingers crossed they can get Mahershala Ali.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
