Now, it seems that this rumor is shifting more into a reality with the report that Miles Joris-Peyrafitte has been chosen to direct the film.
While it should be obvious that Robbie would star at the titular character, Collider reports that she won’t commit to starring in it until she reads a script – a script that has not been developed yet. Sources though say that the movie may see Tank Girl teaming up with another outlaw named Jet Girl and a group of rebels in order to take down a tyrannical government that has seized an already scarce water supply. This is not confirmed.
Tank Girl was previously adapted into a film, starting off as a comic; in 1995 and starred Lori Petty. Tank Girl was a beginner’s guide practically for any punk girl and it will be interesting to see how the post-2019 era receives a new adaptation.
