It has been reported by That Hashtag Show, that Marvel Studios has reportedly commissioned a completed script based on Brian Michael Bendis’ Dark Avengers series, which was first released in 2009. While this is completely speculation at this point because Marvel has been known to commission many different scripts that lead nowhere. However, with Phase Three coming to an end and some of Marvel’s cornerstone performers reaching the end of their contracts, it would be just like “The House of Ideas” to prepare for the next phase.

For those unfamiliar with the Dark Avengers, the team, which was launched in the aftermath of Secret Invasion series, had a multiple roster that included the former Scorpion Mac Gargan, who was in possession of the Venom symbiote, as “Spider-Man,” Daredevil foe Bullseye assumed the persona of “Hawkeye,” Logan’s evil son Daken replaced his father as “Wolverine,” Moonstone became “Ms. Marvel,” and Osborn himself donned Tony Stark’s Iron Patriot suit. The Secret Invasion comic series was the event that saw the shapeshifting aliens known as the Skrull infiltrate and secretly take the place of heroes in the Marvel Universe.

As many fans know by now, the upcoming Captain Marvel film will be influenced by the Kree-Skrull War. It is thought that since the Skrulls will play a major role in that film, it would open the door for the possibility of the Dark Avengers perhaps making their presence felt in the MCU.

How do you Marvel fan’s feel about the possibility of the Dark Avengers becoming a part of Phase 4? Does the idea seem intriguing or perhaps to dark for Marvel? Share your opinions about the Dark Avengers at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
