PlayStation VR will be receiving another huge title later this year in the form of Marvel’s Iron Man VR. The game was officially announced Monday during Sony’s State of Play streaming presentation.

The trailer itself is classic Iron Man. His plane is attacked by a mysterious assailant and when he is sucked out of the burning vehicle, he suits up with a little help from FRIDAY and goes into battle. We see the player use their hands to blast away enemies using Iron Mans iconic  “Hand-Mounted Repulsors” and we even see them punch an oncoming enemy into oblivion. As impressive as the trailer is it’s worth pointing out the cutscenes are marked as “not actual gameplay.”

Marvels own blog posts shed’s some light on the new announcements telling us Tony will  “confront ghosts from his past — powerful forces who seek to ruin him and everything he stands for [alongside] iconic allies and Super Villains as they jet around the globe on a heroic mission to save not only Stark Industries but the world itself.”

Now as for the suit itself eagle-eyed fans might be sat there pondering over which variant it is, well its actually a brand new design. This Iron Man suit is called the Impulse Armor and is an all-new design from illustrator Adi Granov made just for Iron Man VR. Adi Granov can be known for his work on countless Marvel properties but most of all his work on Iron Man. The blog post also gives us a little hint at what some flight mechanics may look like in the finished game.

The game is in developed by Camouflaj, previously known for their action-adventure stealth game République so Iron man VR is certainly a shake-up for the developers. The release date is currently unknown but it is slated for a 2019 release.
