Marvel’s WandaVision did something truly special within nine episodes. We saw reality being altered, magic galore, and we were kept on our toes every week. Loki seems to look to one-up WandaVision and go even crazier than the previous Disney+ show.
Lead writer Michael Waldron teases:
“It is a big crack of the bat, a big swing. Our writers’ room was next to WandaVision’s. And you’re like, ‘That show looks so fucking good. We’ve got to do something crazier! We’ve got to step on the gas, because we know that what they’re doing is so cool.’ We tried to take chances every step of the way.”
Tom Hiddleston, who will reprise his role as the God of Mischief; revealed:
“There’s a propulsive momentum to [the show], which is about trying to find out more information. There’s a man-on-the-run quality to Loki, and he is caught in a complex new labyrinth, and is trying to find his way around without exposing himself to vulnerability or exploitation.”
We’ve seen a few trailers for Loki and what we’ve seen so far, it looks like we’re in for a wild ride. Loki has had to deal with Thor, the Avengers, Thanos, and more. But, in the Disney+ show, he’ll be dealing with Mobius – played by Owen Wilson. Has Loki finally met his match with someone just as quick-witted as he?
We’ll have to wait to see – Loki hits Disney+ on June 9.
