It has been revealed today that Marvel’s Young Avengers has begun casting. A tip has named the young actor, Alex A.J. Gardner, to play Nathaniel Richards also known as Iron Lad, a hero who wears neurokinetic armor that responds to his thoughts. The armor also gives him superhuman strength, flight energy, and blast projection. Iron Lad is the founder of the Young Avengers. With only three acting credits listed for Gardner, this is sure to be a huge step up in his acting career so far.
The next rumored cast member is Hailee Steinfeld, playing Hawkeye. Interestingly, Steinfeld is already cast as Kate Bishop in the Disney+ series, Hawkeye. Her introduction to the group involves her saving the Young Avengers after a mission goes wrong.
Since there seems to be a good chance for crossovers in the MCU shows on Disney+, the next cast member that makes sense would be Elijah Richardson as Eli Bradley, also known as Patriot, on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He made his appearance on the episode entitled “The Star-Spangled Man.”
The other actors named are Kathryn Newton to play Cassie Lang also known as Stature and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel. Ms. Marvel is currently in production for Disney+. There is a good chance that Iron Lad might also appear in that series since he is the leader of the Young Avengers.
