One of the most anticipated films that fans want news on is Matt Reeves The Batman. We finally have our Batman now the question is who will he be going up against in the film. It’s long been rumored that this film would involve a rogues gallery of villains and Reeves himself hinted that Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman might be involved.

The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Forbes all have said Penguin, Catwoman and Riddler were likely as well. A new report from The GWW says Penguin and Catwoman are confirmed but until we get official word from Warner Bros or the trades we will take it with a grain of salt. The report also seems to indicate Riddler is for sure in and will actually be the main villain of the film. Some casting breakdowns revealed awhile back seems to confirm Riddler might indeed be involved.

The most intriguing thing about the report is that they do reveal Firefly will be in the film as well. Firefly was featured as a female on the last few seasons of Gotham and was a villain in the Arkham games. Firefly would seem to be a for sure secondary villain with Riddler and Penguin being the main antagonists. Catwoman could be a villain or perhaps she plays a role that would see her being a love interest to Bruce and helping Batman much like Catwoman did in The Dark Knight Rises and Batman Returns.

If this report turns out to be true then it seems we have our villains and now we just need the actors. Rumors indicate Nicholas Hoult who was considered for Batman could potentially be considered for Riddler. All of this of course is a rumor and we await official confirmation.

How do feel about the potential villain line up? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
