Michael Keaton Is In Talks To Reprise His Role As Bruce Wayne/Batman In ‘The Flash’

Here is a report that sounds too good to be true. I should preface in saying though – anything is possible and DC is certainly bold in their collaborations. If you watched the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline on The CW, you would know that the studio does not shy away from bringing in people from all different aspects of prior DC fandom together. I mean, The CW was able to bring in Ezra Miller to interact with Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen. So, it isn’t really far-fetched that Michael Keaton would reprise his role as Batman in the upcoming The Flash film.

Yes, that is the rumor. According to The Wrap, Keaton is in talks to join Miller in this long-awaited solo film. This is just a rumor and there are no reports on how large Keaton’s part would be. It’s been thirty years since Keaton has donned the cowl and if he was joining, this would be the…fourth (?) Batman set to be in a DC film within the next year or two. Keep in mind, there are also rumors that Jeffrey Dean Morgan may return in The Flash for a Flashpoint-style storyline, where Thomas Wayne plays a version of Batman.

Back to the report. Just like in Crisis on Infinite Earths, The Flash will include the idea of multiverses. This is the core of DC and as mentioned before, we’re getting a lot of Batman’s in the next few years. We’ll be seeing Robert Pattinson as Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder’s version of the Justice League. Morgan rumored to be Batman in The Flash and now Keaton in The Flash. Keaton is certainly returning to the world of comics and cameos and merging worlds considering he’s also making his way back to Marvel as the Vulture in SOny’s Morbius. [He previously played the character in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming].

Keaton last played atman in 1992’s Batman Returns and has been complimented as one of the fan favorites to be Batman.
