Michael Rooker Says James Gunn Will Direct ‘SUICIDE SQUAD 2’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9300″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Michael Rooker, whose recent roles have included The Walking Dead and the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise; spoke at a recent Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta about his former boss’s firing. You have to be living under a rock to not know that director James Gunn, who was prospected as one of Marvel’s biggest directors; was fired from Disney due to tweets from ten years ago, which Gunn had publicly apologized for when he was first hired to do the first GoTG, thus meaning the studio knew about them.

Rooker played Yondu in the franchise; at first a cantankerous misfit who only served as a nuisance from time to time, Yondu became known as one of the best father figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked about the firing and Gunn getting brought in for DC’s Suicide Squad 2, Rooker stated:

“It’s terrible, isn’t it? Yeah, but oh well, guess what? He’s on a gig already. Suicide Squad, that’s right. He’s writing it and directing it as well.”

What are your thoughts about everything that surrounded James Gunn and his firing? Are you excited to see how he adds his personality into Suicide Squad 2? And are you majorly disappointed, as I am; that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is put on hold?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
