Netflix’s The Old Guard has been greenlit for a sequel. As one of the surprise hits of last year, it shouldn’t be too shocking that Netflix wants to keep up the positivity by developing a sequel to the Charlize Theron-led action film.
The Illuminerdi has reported that The Old Guard 2 is happening. There aren’t any casting announcements yet, but it’s assumed that we will see the original cast return for another round. Gina Prince-Bythewood is also expected to return to direct.
The first movie had over 78 million reported views which made it one of the biggest films ever for Netflix and the hottest film during the summer of 2020.
