One of my favorite Netflix shows is coming to Pluto TV. All three seasons of Narcos and the two seasons of Narcos: Mexico will hit Pluto TV in the “show’s first streaming run on a free, ad-supported U.S. platform” – according to Deadline. The distribution plan includes a partnership with Gaumont. And it will start on October 20th. Narcos will be streamed across “four different linear channels on Pluto”.
Pluto TV has 26.6 million monthly active users. Season one of Narcos will stream on weeknights at 10 pm EST. Catch-up episodes will premiere the following day at 8 pm EST. There will then be bonus weekend marathons. Pluto TV will debut a new season monthly throughout February 2021.
Pluto SVP of Content Strategy and Global Partnerships Amy Kuessner put out a statement:
“As the adoption of ad-supported streaming continues to accelerate, we are excited to build on that momentum and align with esteemed creators and producers in search of new ways to introduce audiences to their coveted collection of award-winning content. Working in partnership with Gaumont, a longtime pioneer in the world of streaming, to bring the acclaimed Netflix Original series Narcos to Pluto TV is further testament to the evolving free streaming landscape that is rapidly gaining foothold for prestige partners, game-changing content and audiences alike.”
Now I have not heard of Netflix officially renewing Narcos: Mexico for a third season. Hopefully, with this partnership and additional exposure, Netflix will be more inclined to renew this epic show. Don’t cancel this one, Netflix, we know you’ve been canceling great shows recently.
What do you think about Narcos being offered on Pluto TV?
