Netflix Set to Make a History Making $400M Deal for Knives Out 2 & 3

Netflix is nearing on closing a deal for the sequels to the 2019 hit Knives Out. Rian Johnson is set to return as director, and Daniel Craig is expected to reprise his role as Benoit Blanc. This film franchise and Rian Johnson, apparently, had some stars align allowing Daniel Craig to reprise his role after he became available when Danny Boyle exited the James Bond movie.

This $400 million deal is so far the largest streamer movie deal in history. The sequels were involved in a discreet auction amongst three streaming platforms which included Amazon and Apple. Knives Out was distributed by Lionsgate with a budget of $40 million and quickly made back its money and more with a worldwide gross of $311 million. The first of the two sequels is set to begin filming on June 28th in Greece and casting is to begin immediately.
