Netflix’s Superhero Film ‘PAST MIDNIGHT’ Interested In Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chris Pine

It looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger might be returning to the world of superheroes. Netflix is currently developing their superhero vigilante flick, Past Midnight. The show centers a superhero who serves 65 years in prison for vigilantism. He is released early to help police fight his arch-nemesis who has seemingly returned from the dead.  According to our scoop friend, Daniel Richtman, Netflix is interested in casting Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead role.

Arnold would play Frank aka Midnight – Vigilante who nearly twenty years ago strove to clean up crime in NYC while the police were ineffective. He is eventually betrayed by the NYC police and sent to prison.

The report also indicates that Chris Pine is being sought after for the role of Scott Mercer who is the lead NYC detective in the Special Crimes Division who is tasked with keeping an eye on Frank to make sure he does not get into trouble.

The film is set to be directed by Rick Famuyiwa from a script written by T. J. Fixman. Avengers: Endgame directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, are set as producers. In a report from Deadline a few months back, it was reported that Keanu Reeves might be up for a role in the film but that remains to be seen.  The last time Arnold was in a comic book film was for his role as Mister Freeze in Batman and Robin. Chris Pine is set to reprise his role as Steve Trevor this August when Wonder Woman 84 comes out.
