Arnold Schwarzenegger Talks ‘CONAN’ Sequel

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16988″ img_size=”798×420″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Arnold Schwarzenegger has not been shy about wanting to pursue a follow-up to his Conan films. Recently when promoting the new Marvel Conan Comic book, he mentioned that he would like to do a film about King Conan. So why hasn’t it happened? Arnold has an answer for you. He explained in a recent discussion with Arnold Fans.

When it comes to the movie, the sad stuff about all of this is when there’s an estate like this…The Robert E. Howard estate…when someone buys these rights, those people now own the rights and they have their own vision of what they want to do…

In this case, the person who own those rights has not been able to develop a project either through TV or streaming network. Arnold knows what HE wants done.

…we have been trying to convince him for years now that the way to go is to come back and hire a really great director and to do another Conan movie and have me play King Conan, when Conan is like 70 years old and he’s disgusted by sitting on the throne and being the king and then something happens after that.

Whether this ever comes to pass is up in the air but Arnold knows, the sooner the better. He’s not getting any younger. Do you agree with Arnold that a follow up starring himself (at least as the elder Conan) is the way to go? Share your storyline with us at GVNation.

I would watch this… though I would prefer Conan the Barbarian and not Conan the Defender.

I’d be fine with him being an old King Conan. That sounds fun. Plus points if it’s not all fighting.

The first movie had great music and interesting world-building. If Arnold can avoid making a spectacle, I think he could make another honest classic.

I’m an optimist… 🙂

In 13 years, the original canon will be public domain… 🙂

By the way, as a fan of things vintage, I think you might enjoy the Journey (link below).
