After the mega box office success for Warner Brother’s Aquaman, all eyes are now on what is next for the DC Extended Universe. This is, of course, the first major motion picture for the original Captain Marvel, Shazam! With just a month to go before the release, many were beginning to speculate that there would be no second trailer for the upcoming superhero romp and that director David Sandberg was fine rolling into opening weekend with only the teaser from Comic-Con to promote the movie. That was all gone with a flash after he tweeted on Friday that we would indeed be getting the new trailer today.

Now that it’s here, the countdown can officially begin for what appears to be a fun and family friendly weekend at the cinemas. As someone with a six year old son who is more excited to see this movie than he is Avengers: Endgame, counting this one out at the box office might be more foolish than them deciding not to put The Rock’s Black Adam in this movie.
Shazam! will be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema in RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema and IMAX 3D on April 5, 2019. The runtime is 113 minutes.
