Willy’s Wonderland is not a hellish spin-off of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It’s instead a Nicolas Cage thriller that features Cage as a man that must survive a night trapped inside a family entertainment center. And you guessed it, the animatronic characters turn evil. Willy’s Wonderland has sold in international territories. Willy’s Wonderland is currently the working title. Cage will play The Janitor, who is an out-of-towner. He’s forced to clean this family entertainment center in exchange for his car being worked on. Strange bartering system.
Willy’s Wonderland also stars Emily Tosta, Beth Grant, Ric Reitz, and Chris Warner. Kevin Lewis has directed the feature.
Foresight Unlimited, which is the division of Screen Media Ventures that negotiated the deal on the filmmakers’ behalf; Chairman Mark Damon commented:
“Certainly, part of the reason Willy’s Wonderland is selling so well, is the spike in demand for mid-range genre thriller titles with a name actor attached. But particularly since this film has the makings to become a cult classic, and after showing buyers footage, they are believers as well.”
