Chief among these was Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street. Nine times the Nightmare has been visited, with eight of those starring the iconic Robert England as Freddy Krueger. In past interviews, Englund had stated that he was too old to play Krueger anymore as he physically couldn’t hold up. However, as Halloween’s box office receipts have piled up, he apparently has had a change of heart and stated that he might have one more movie in him. It appears he isn’t the only one. Heather Langenkamp, who starred with Englund in the original film, has said she would love to revisit Elm Street one more time. She explained her position to Entertainment Weekly:
I’m sitting here like any other scream queen in Hollywood, hoping that they revive their franchise. I’m not alone! I know of lots of other horror heroines who have this little bit of spring in their step thinking about the chance of perhaps being in [new versions of] the movies that they helped make famous as young people. It’s kind of crazy, but it’s definitely something I would love to do.
At this time, nothing has been reported about a possible revisit to Elm Street, but apparently there are at least two actors who would be willing to take that trip. How would you like one last journey down Elm Street? Share your dreams or your nightmares with us at GVNation.
