We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in the world of physical media. Over on our YouTube Channel, you can find us talking about everything you need to know on No Streaming Required, our weekly guide to all the latest 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, and DVD releases.

For the week of November 11th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.

This week, we spotlight the highly anticipated 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of the Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest from director Miloš Forman, courtesy of Warner Bros. The film starring Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher is presented with a new 4K restoration in HDR10 with two audio options and a pair of new featurettes to accompany archival supplements. The studio also has TV offerings in the form of Rick & Morty: Season 8, fresh from airing on Adult Swim. The Blu-Ray release comes with all ten episodes from the newest season, plus a featurette.

We have a film fresh from theaters with the family sequel Freakier Friday on Blu-Ray courtesy of Disney. The film finds Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan returning to this beloved property after more than 20 years, and the home entertainment release includes featurettes that explore this process along with deleted scenes, music videos, and more. We stay in the family-friendly space with the 25th anniversary 4K UHD Blu-Ray release of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey from Universal. The new release introduces Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and a new retrospective to accompany the archival supplements.

Sony has a major release that we explore in-depth with the Luc Besson 9-Movie Collection, featuring nine movies on Blu-Ray, with six of those films also on 4K UHD Blu-Ray in Dolby Vision. This collection includes Le Dernier Combat, Subway, The Big Blue (two cuts), La Femme Nikita, Atlantis, Leon: The Professional (two cuts), The Fifth Element, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (two cuts), and Angel-A. This set is stacked with archival special features including documentaries, featurettes, interviews, and more. This lavish, limited edition set, complete with a stunning outer box, is another award-worthy effort from the studio.

GKIDS delivers a thrilling experience with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of Shin Godzilla in HDR10 with Japanese and English dub audio options. The release comes with a making-of documentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, and more. This is not the only release that will get your heart pumping, as Celluloid Dreams debuts the Italian crime drama A Hyena in the Safe on Blu-Ray. The release comes from a gorgeous new HD master along with a commentary track, an interview featurette, a video essay, and more.

The heroes at Radiance Films continue to deliver quality work with a pair of unforgettable releases from Europe. First, we have the Greek drama The Ogre of Athens debuting on Blu-Ray, which finds a modest everyman mistaken for a notorious criminal. The release comes from a new HD master and includes new interviews. The label also has a trio of films from a French master with Wicked Games: Three Films by Robert Hossein featuring The Wicked Go to Hell, Nude in a White Car, and The Taste of Violence. The Blu-Ray release comes with new 2K restorations courtesy of Gaumont, along with a commentary track for each film, interviews, a visual essay, and more.

The masters at Deaf Crocodile have their first silent-era release with the double feature Alraune and The Student of Prague from director Henrik Galeen on Blu-Ray, newly restored by Filmmuseum München. The release comes with commentary tracks, a lengthy interview, and more. We also have a pair of music documentaries on Blu-Ray with A Song For You: The Austin City Limits Story from Gravitas Ventures and Harley Flanagan: Wired for Chaos from Lightyear Entertainment. The latter has over 70 minutes of additional material that fans of this hardcore legend will not want to miss.
