For the week of September 22nd, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. This week, in the world of new theatrical films, we have the action-packed DC outing Supergirl starring Milly Alcock on 4K UHD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio. The release comes with a featurette, deleted scenes, a short film, and more. There is also the latest installment in the iconic family franchise Toy Story 5 on 4K UHD Blu-Ray courtesy of Disney. The blockbuster arrives in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos audio, along with a selection of featurettes, deleted scenes, and a commentary track.
The company also digs into the vaults with 4K UHD Blu-Ray debuts of two Robin Williams favorites. The outrageous comedy Mrs. Doubtfire and the inspiring drama Dead Poets Society arrive newly restored in 4K UHD Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos audio tracks. These releases include featurettes, deleted scenes, and more.
For those preparing for spooky season, Lionsgate Limited has the horror sequel The Descent Part II debuting on 4K UHD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision, a new interview with the star, and an array of archival special features, including a commentary track, deleted scenes, and more. There is also the slasher remake Sorority Row on 4K UHD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, new interviews, a commentary track, and more. For those who are not quite as bloodthirsty, the company has the crime comedy Made starring Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn on 4K UHD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and a parade of archival supplements.
Classic film fans are in for a treat with the Blu-Ray debut of some Bing Crosby vehicles courtesy of Universal. The studio has Rhythm on the Range, Rhythm on the River, and Waikiki Wedding from the famous crooner, along with the Bob Hope comedic outing College Swing. If you are more of a serious type, the studio is also reissuing Thunder Bay starring James Stewart on Blu-Ray. None of these releases have supplemental features.
The heroes at Radiance Films continue to amaze us every month, and this month is filled with gems. The label offers its latest 4K UHD Blu-Ray release with the Dennis Hopper neo-noir The Hot Spot starring Don Johnson, Virginia Madsen, and Jennifer Connelly, newly restored in 4K from the Original Camera Negative in Dolby Vision. They also have two unique films from Italian cinema with Corruption and The Magnificent Cuckold on Blu-Ray. Both films have been restored and include insightful interviews.
Radiance also provides a double dose of films from Kon Ichikawa with The Inugami Family and Ten Women in Black on Blu-Ray. Both film have been restored in 4K courtesy of Kadokawa and include supplemental features such as documentaries, interviews, and more. If you want some off-brand martial arts film, Visual Vengeance has the Taiwanese actioner Fatal Flying Guillotine on Blu-Ray from a 2K transfer of original film elements. The release includes a commentary track, video essays, and more.
