Now in Indiegogo, by Skull Dust Press: ‘Mars City Vice, Issue 2,’ by Craig E.Sawyer, Chris Webb and Deivid Deon

Back in September, we ran a review of a new title called Mars City Vice by Skull Dust Press. It was, just as the title implied, a mixing of science fiction adventure, aliens and flavored with the iconic Miami Vice downbeat. Well as it turned out, Issue one did very well in its maiden voyage, selling out its initial print run. Now that they have put their foot in the door, creators Craig Sawyer and Chris Webb are back at it for issue#2. In preparation, they have started a campaign on Indiegogo which started on February 20th. Here is the synopsis by the writers for the story and the 2nd chapter called “I’ve Seen Your Face Before.”

SYNOPSIS:

Mars circa 2089: Humans live and play alongside various extraterrestrial races. Several of the planets in our solar system have been colonized for many years. The Moon has sprawling slums, while Mars has become a popular and exclusive theme park based on a super stylized version of 80’s Miami. Two unlikely police detectives, a human Maxwell ‘Moony’ Boone and his new alien partner Tykar ‘Ty’ Baths try and overcome their differences, as they work undercover in a fake 1980’s Miami. They are investigating a mysterious kingpin, who is threatening to corrupt the solar system with a new drug made from a rare alien blood.

Issue#2 Synopsis

Boone is transferred to Mars City, currently themed like Miami in the 80’s. He is prepped about all things 1980’s. If THAT wasn’t bad enough, he is then inserted into the amusement park city to be more actor than cop. Much to his chagrin. But Boone soon learns that nothing is as it seems, and there is real crime in the fake city. He is partnered up with the stoic Baths by their hard-boiled Lt  Vedanko and the two 80’s obsessed alien twins. Baths and Boone butt heads at first, but come to realize they are both after the same arch criminal. Hadrian sends a hit squad, led by a killer robot, to kill Baths and Boone. Boone lives, but Baths is put into a coma by an explosion.  Well THAT sounds unpleasant.
