Due to the film’s Oscar nomination and SAG Awards win, Black Panther will return to theaters to celebrate Black History Month, as announced by Disney. For one week, February 1st to February 7th, you can enjoy the experience all over again at over 250 participating AMC locations. Tickets are free and there will be two showings per day.
In addition to this exciting opportunity, the Walt Disney Company is also giving $1.5 million to support the UNCF (United Negro College Fund) to further help the organization’s mission of helping minority students access, move to, and through college. This is an organization that has bee providing scholarships for students for almost 75 years and this grant is part of Disney’s commitment to diverse communities and expanding talent.

“‘Black Panther’ is groundbreaking for many reasons, including the rich diversity of voices behind its success. The story also showcases the power of knowledge to change the world for the better, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to it. We’re proud to provide thousands of free screenings of ‘Black Panther’ in hopes it will continue to inspire audiences, and to support UNCF with a $1.5 million grant to make the dream of higher education a reality for more students.”
UNCF President and CEO Dr. Michael Lomax, also commented:
“We know that providing aspiring young minority talent with scholarships and professional development opportunities is vital to making their dreams a reality. I recall the excitement we all had when ‘Black Panther’ was first released and it’s fantastic that Disney is bringing the record-breaking movie back to the big screen so that we can relive that excitement. Black Panther has been a movie that both comic book lovers and casual viewers can enjoy and the storyline is one that everyone can embody. Not only did Black Panther break it within the box office and the award season, but it was also the first movie in about 30 years to be shown in Saudi Arabia’s movie theaters. It’s truly a spectacular movie to take your family to in order to relive the experience and, if you haven’t seen it; this is a chance for you to see the movie that could very well go on to be Marvel’s (and any superhero movie) first Best Movie of the Year Oscar Award.
