Blizzard officially revealed yesterday the latest hero to be joining the ranks of Overwatch in the form of Baptiste, a combat medic who can dish out just as much pain as he heals.

For those interested in Overwatch’s lore, the new hero was originally teased via an in-universe declassified report written by a character named Captain Cuerva that mentions a run in with someone named Baptiste, although at the time players had no clue who this was. A strike team was then instructed to retrieve Baptiste or if that failed, eliminate him. “No one leaves Talon.”
The report from Captain Cuerva stated: “I know better than to underestimate Baptiste, I helped train him myself, and he was one of our best. I’ve never known a medic to be such a good shot, and his adaptability to new situations is a rare talent. All of us have seen our fair share of conflict, but Baptiste was built to survive. I swear he has the Devil’s own luck.”
Baptiste sounds like a support character based on his description, but I think he could be a really cool addition. Someone who is just as good at patching up wounds as he is at inflicting them. Plus, for all those players who want to know every single bit of backstory and lore when a new character arrives his questionable past with Talon that was hinted at makes his arrival all the more interesting.
