City of Angels will take place in 1938’s Los Angeles and will explore a culture deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension. The conflict is rooted between characters who are connected to the deity Santa Muerte and those who align themselves with the Devil. City of Angels will explore supernatural aspects, along with the time period the show takes place in. The main character will be an LA cop who is connected with Santa Muerte, who is the angel of death. According to sources, Kinnear will be going by the name “Peter Craft” in this series.
Showtime is hoping to bring in Nathan Lane as Charlton Townsend, another series lead; who is described as a ruthless chairman of the city’s transportation committee who will find himself at the center of the city’s racial divide. Seeing how City of Angels plays out will surely be interesting for fans.
