Peter Dinklage Explains Tyrion’s Reasoning For Being a Peeping Tom

If you remember, the Game of Thrones finale was bonkers. But, besides that; there was a specific scene that left a lot curious as to what was the meaning behind it. In the season seven finale, Daenerys and Jon Snow have intercourse. Now, same your opinions for that for a later discussion. What we want to talk about here, is why the heck was Tyrion staring at them? Why did he look perturbed? It was certainly strange to see the beloved character just watching on; I mean, I know both Dany and Jon are good looking, but come on, Tyrion.

In an interview with Peter Dinklage offered some insight into this peculiar scene:

“A lot of the time with Tyrion, it’s professional and personal. Obviously, he has feelings for Daenerys. He loves her — or thinks he does. She’s awe-inspiring. He’s questioning that because he doesn’t have a good track record for falling in love. There’s jealousy wrapped up in there. And he loves Jon Snow, too. They’re the two people he has the most in common with, in a way — they’re both outsiders in their own families who have refused to follow the path their family has taken, and hopefully for the better.”

Tyrion certainly admires Daenerys, but jealous?

Dinklage added:

“He’s wondering how smart of a move [Jon and Dany getting romantically involved is], because passion and politics don’t mix well,” the actor admitted. “He knows the two of them getting together could be very dangerous.”

Now, this I could see as a better explanation for Tyrion’s onlooking. I know that Daenerys is certainly a leader and anyone could be caught up in her aura, but I never felt that Tyrion had any sort of romantic feelings towards the Mother of Dragons. How did you interpret that look?
