PlayStation 5’s release date has not yet been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, even though plenty of events and products have been postponed or canceled. According to LetsGoDigital, they spoke to Amsterdam PR agency that represents Sony Interactive Entertainment Benelux. They reassured LetsGoDigital that the PS5 hasn’t been released yet – but, there isn’t an actual release date for the console at this time. All we know is that it should be released around the holidays.
Reportedly, according to PlayStation; we should be getting information about the PS5 from architect Mark Cerny:
Tomorrow at 9am Pacific Time, PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny will provide a deep dive into PS5’s system architecture, and how it will shape the future of games.

Perhaps, due to the release being so far out, PlayStation feels confident in keeping their release date as is. Either way, Cerny will be going over the details of the design, the controller, and more. If we are still all quarantined until then, we’re going to need more games to play!
