Prologue Comic For ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Coming This September

DC has announced today that a prologue to their upcoming Wonder Woman film, Wonder Woman 1984, will be hitting shelves this September.  The issue will be released at local Walmart stores at first and will feature a story that is co-written by one of the films producers.

Wonder Woman 1984 No. 1, which is set to debut in Walmart stores before a wide release the following week, will feature two stories. In the first, Louise Simonson (The Death of SupermanX-Factor) and Wonder Woman 1984 associate producer Anna Obropta co-write a direct lead-in to the movie, illustrated by Bret Blevins, as Wonder Woman has to deal with a hostage situation at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History; the second story, by Steve Pugh and Marguerite Sauvage, sees a villain attempt to steal Diana’s lasso for nefarious ends.

The cover artwork is done by talented artist, Nicola Scott.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released at Walmart beginning on September 20 and then will be available at comic stores and digitally on September 29. The movie is still set for release on October 2 but with so much uncertainty, that date might change as well.
