PS Plus Games and Best Deals For August 2019

August is here and with it, a brand new selection of free PS Plus titles for us to take a look at. Like always there are two titles up for grabs. The PS plus offerings for August 2019 will be available on the first Tuesday of the month (6th August). This month’s offerings are pretty solid with a classic shooter which redefines the art of sniping and an action-packed fast-paced racer which really gets the blood pumping. Let’s take a look.

Sniper Elite 4

First up this month, we have a sniping enthusiasts dream. Sniper Elite 4. This third-person shooter puts you behind enemy lines and you must use all your witts, the environment itself and, of course, your trusty rifle to make it out alive. Where Sniper Elite 4 really shines through, however, is with its impressive bullet drop and wind resistance physics and some of the most satisfying x-ray mechanics I’ve seen in all of gaming. Nothing really beats watching your bullet fly through the air in slow motion only to pierce through an enemy soldier as you see his bones break and organs explode. That might sound a little dark but honestly, it really is quite a lot of fun.

Despite the name, you are equipped with all manner of weapons and there are multiple different ways for you to complete certain missions so there’s a decent amount of replay-ability here too. There’s also a co-op campaign to play through with your friend and 12 player multiplayer matches.

Sniper Elite 4 boasts a Metacritic score of 77 and a user score of 6.6. Check out the game’s trailer below:

Wipeout: Omega Collection

Next, up for the month of August, we have a racer that dates back all the way to the original PlayStation. It is virtually the same sci-fi racer you remember from the good old days only with some serious upgrades, and the Omega Collection contains multiple games. Wipeout 2048, Wipeout HD and, the HD Fury Expansion. All are availbe to play with 26 tracks to race around and up to 8 player multiplayer, Wipeout is a serious thrill ride. Race around the tracks picking up power-ups like homing missiles and machine gun turrets to try and take your opposition on the track. Oh, but wait, it gets even better. Wipeout Omega Collection is also playable on the PSVR system allowing you to experience the thrill of the race from the cockpit itself. As someone who recently played Wipeout in VR, I have to say it is jaw-droppingly good. Seriously, if you can play this game in VR you simply have to. Non PSVR users don’t worry though, the game is equally as fun when played normally.

Wipeout Omega Collection has a Metacritic score of 85 and a user score of 8.2. Give the trailer a watch, down below:
