Overcooked

First up this month we have Overcooked, a local co-op game which has you and your friends frantically working in a busy kitchen. It’s not too dissimilar to some mobile games out there but don’t let its cartoonish style fool you. You’ll be washing, chopping, serving meals and, cleaning up your mess all against the clock leading to some utterly frustrating but hilarious hours in the kitchen. It’s more of a party style co-op game which can be good for a few laughs with your friends and whilst it is easy to pick up and play make no mistake, this game can get seriously hard.

There’s also a really cool feature to Overcooked which allows two people to use the same controller at the same time so 4 player co-op only needs two controllers. It’s by no means a hard-hitting AAA title but Overcooked has all the charm and replayability of one and received positive reviews at launch so will you be picking it up? Let us know.

What Remains of Edith Finch

Our second, and last, game this month couldn’t be further from our previously mentioned title. What Remains of Edith Finch is a first-person adventure game which revolves around storytelling and is all about exploration and detective work. After arriving at the Finch house you must discover what happened to Edith and her family. If you’re a sucker for a good mystery, What Remains of Edith Finch is something you absolutely have to check out and its unique artistic choices make for a memorable experience.

It’s a great jumping off point for people who aren’t massively into games with a short campaign of only around 100 minutes to 2 hours and is extremely relaxing to play. What Remains of Edith Finch was praised by critics upon its launch with 8’s and 9’s out of 10 across the board. Has its story already intrigued you? Give us your thoughts below or over on Twitter.

That does it for the free PS Plus games this month but there’s still a whole host of deals on offer right now so let’s look at some of the standouts. The Deal of the week is currently Hitman 2 for £19.99 with 63% off.

Big in Japan

The PS Store is showing off some of its biggest hits from Japan right now most of which are on sale. Resident Evil 2 is available for £34.99 at 22% off, Kingdom Hearts 3 is 33% off and is up for £36.84, Monster Hunter World is a mere £15.99 with a 60% off deal and Soul Calibur VI is half price at £24.99 right now with 54% off. Shadow of the Colossus is also only £12.99 for PS Plus Subscribers with 56% off. Definitely worth checking out.

Games under £13

Some super cheap deals now with games under £13. Battlefield 4 Premium Edition, arguably one of, if not the best Battlefield title is only £6.49 and is still well worth picking up in 2019 especially at that price. Dishonored Definitive Edition is only £8.99 and its sequel Dishonored 2 is only a couple pound extra at £12.99. Two awesome games which are well worth the money. The Need for Speed ultimate bundle which includes Need for Speed Deluxe Edition as well as Rivals and payback is only £12.99 instead of £84.99 with a huge 84% off. A great purchase for any petrol heads out there.

Games Under £4

Still not cheap enough for you? Well, there a few titles which are as low as £4 which I think are well worth picking up. Still not got your Dishonored fix? Well, the franchise’s latest installment the spin-off title; Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is £3.99 with 80% off. Seriously play these games if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it. Mirrors Edge Catalyst is only £3.99 with 77% off and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is also sitting pretty at £3.99 with 73% off. Those are the only real titles I’d say are with picking up but there are still a couple extra games out there cheap right now for you to check out.

So that about does it for PS Plus of May 2019. Will you be trying out Overcooked with some friends or does the mysterious story of Edith Finch grab your intrest more? Give us your thoughts on this month’s PS plus down below or over on Twitter.
