Ranking the Netflix ‘Daredevil’ Seasons From Best to Worst

While we all hope to see Charlie Cox back in the red suit one day, we aren’t sure if Cox will be reprising his role as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Don’t get me wrong, I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that Cox gets the opportunity to be Matt Murdock again. In the mean time, I’m going to go through the three seasons we were given on Netflix and ranking them. Now, I know the title is a little clickbaity – all three seasons were great. None of them were bad – just some were better than others.

This list will be comprised from the season I enjoyed the most, to the one I enjoyed the least (or at least, not as much as the other seasons). Let’s begin!

1. Daredevil Season Three

Marvel’s Daredevil

I’m going to use a little bit of internet lingo here, but season three of Daredevil is “god-tier”. Seriously – we all wanted a season four, but season three was probably the best last season any series could have. Not only did we have Vincent D’Onofrio in all of his glory, but we finally had resolution. We had Matt, Foggy, and Karen finally acknowledge the fallout they had in the previous season and move forward with newfound transparency. Everything was on the table and we no longer had to watch our favorite characters lie to each other. There were so many beautiful scenes, fantastic dialogue/acting, and top-tier fighting. Back to Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio), I don’t think we’ve seen a better on-screen villain in a comic-book series. This, combined with Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye and we had the best season of any Netflix MCU series.

2. Daredevil Season Two

Marvel’s Daredevil

Admittedly, I’m putting this season above season one for one reason and one reason only: this is the season that introduced Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. As soon as the first episode started and Frank Castle came marching into that hospital, I was hooked. Daredevil season two may as well have been called The Punisher season one. And I was completely okay with that. The fighting, the Jon Bernthal, and the expanding of the Daredevil world was great. My complaints? Well, I didn’t like how Elektra reduced Matt Murdock to a person willing to turn his back on his friends and his morals. The season tore Foggy, Karen, and Matt apart. And it really led into the Defenders, which admittedly wasn’t a great series. Still, Frank Castle.

3. Daredevil Season One

Marvel’s Daredevil

Now, I’m not putting this season here because it’s a bad season. Season one of Daredevil is like Iron Man 1, it started everything. Without the first season of Daredevil, we wouldn’t have had the fantastic Netflix Defenders universe. This was the season that introduced the beloved characters, such as Matt, Foggy, and Karen. We saw the titan known as Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. We understood how this New York City was going to be constructed and viewed. We had the best hallway fight scene ever and the season had a genuinely great story. It built everything perfectly and that last episode was incredibly earned. It made us all excited for the future of this world and makes me wish we were in 2015 again.
