[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14371″ img_size=”460×215″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]What people are calling the best remake in gaming history, the already fan favorite Resident Evil 2 remake on PS4, Xbox One and PC has been a huge success with Capcom announcing it has already sold over 3 million copies in its first week alone.

The games early success has also resulted in the Resident Evil franchise as a whole selling over 88 million units since the franchise’s initial debut all the way back in 1996. Capcom also updated Resident Evil 7’s sales figures showing us that it has sold up to 6 million copies, making Resident Evil easily Capcoms biggest franchise sales wise.

The games impressive figures weren’t a huge surprise as the game’s “one-shot” demo had over 4.7 million downloads before the games initial launch and the game itself has remained in the top ten games streamed on Twitch since then. As for the game’s future that too looks pretty bright with the games first major free DLC “Ghost Survivors” arriving in February.

According to Capcom, the DLC will show 3 alternate stories of survivors who never made it out of Racoon City. The first story titled “No Time to Mourn” will put you in the shoes of a gun shop owner, the second story will have you play as the mayor’s daughter and is known as “Runaway”, and the final story; “Forgotten Soldier” will place you in the boots of, you guessed it a soldier. All 3 of these sound like pretty interesting ideas and It will nice to see a little bit of expansion in terms of the lore and a cool look into the over characters who were trapped in Racoon City.

Have you been playing the Resident Evil 2 Remake this week or was the 30-minute “one-shot” demo enough frights for you? Let us know over on Twitter.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3wS-Q2KBpk” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
