Obviously it’s worth noting that Resident Evil 3’s eventually remake took nobody by surprise. Especially after Resident Evil 2’s incredible reception. Nevertheless, the games reveal trailer blew fans away, introducing us to Jill Valentine, yet another survive of Raccoon City. As well as Nemesis. The monster/assassin that stalks you throughout as you try and survive. Mr. X has nothing on this guy. The trailer showed off yet again a gorgeous visual overhaul for the game, similarly to Resident Evil 2’s remake. A hellish, zombie-filled nightmare has never looked so good.

As well as the main Resident Evil 3 remake, the game will launch on April 3, 2020, with an extra addition. Resident Evil Resistance will also be included. The 4V1 CO-OP mode in which 4 survivors have to outsmart and survive one player-controlled villain. The spin-off had no solid release date set but it appears it will make up Resident Evil 3’s multiplayer component.

One last Secret

Whilst all of the hype is surrounding next year’s Resident Evil 3, it would be rude of us to ignore its older, and very successful brother. Recently one final hidden trinket for fans has been revealed. Subtly connecting Resident Evil 2 to the yet to be released RE3 remake. Just a few weeks ago a hidden achievement was spotted on the games Steam achievement list. Like many of us suspected it was, of course, a link to the unreleased Resident Evil 3 remake.

The main character of RE3. What the letter says is currently unknown but it is a nice nod all the same. Will you dive back in to try and find it?

The Resident Evil 2 news doesn’t stop there, however. Capcom has also revealed that the potential game of the year winner has outsold the original Resident Evil 2. The Resident Evil 2 remake boasted a huge 3 million copies sold at launch, slowly climbing to 4 million around march time. The original resident Evil 2 holds an impressive 4.96 million copies sold leading some to wonder. Will the newcomer reach such heights?

Turns out the answer is yes. As of December, the Resident Evil 2 remake has a total of 5 million copies sold. Just edging out its older counterpart.
