Per a story in Deadline, it appears that might be the case as Netflix is exploring the potential for a series based on the popular movie series which has starred Milla Jovovich and is based on the Capcom video game series. Deadline says this will be a Netflix global original and that German production company, Constantin Film, will produce.
As it is being discussed, the drama series will expand and explore the machinations of the Umbrella Corporation and focus on the new world order which was initiated by the spreading of the T-virus. While the series is still in the early conceptual phase, it is expected to reflect the elements that made the films so successful.
