Resident Evil is getting a lot of attention lately thanks to the remakes of the video games plus the announced Netflix series. There is also a reboot of the movie franchise in the works as well. There appears to be some casting movement on the film. We have heard that the reboot has offered the role of Claire Redfield to Maze Runner star Kaya Scodelario. The report also suggests that Titans star Brenton Thwaites is being eyed for the role of Chris Redfield and Harris Dickinson for Leon. Brenton and Kaya last worked together on Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The last live action Resident Evil movie was in 2016 and starred Milla Jovovich.
Ali Larter portrayed Clarie Redfield in 2007s Resident Evil: Extinction, 2010s Resident Evil: Afterlife and 2016s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Wentworth Miller played Chris in 2010s Resident Evil: Afterlife.
As of right now nothing has been confirmed and with Hollywood and most of the world on lockdown there is no telling when movement on this film will begin. The film was set to begin production in May and run until August but that for sure is not happening. Resident Evil will be directed by Johannes Roberts from a script by writer Tony Giglio.
