Some breaking news on a late Wednesday night has fans scratching their heads about Rian Johnson possibly leaving the Star Wars franchise. A new rumor first reported by SuperBroMovies indicates that Rian Johnson has walked away from his planned Star Wars trilogy and will instead focus on other films the director has in the works. Johnson is currently working on Knives Out which Stars James Bond star, Daniel Craig.
Johnson’s last Star Wars outing was not well received with most fans so many might look at this as a sign of relief. Johnson directed The Last Jedi and not since Phantom Menace of maybe even Attack of the Clones have I seen a level of hate for a film in the franchise. SuperBroMovies even speculate that perhaps this backlash might be a reason for the directors departure.
This news seemed imminent hours ago as Twitter was flooded with cryptic tweets indicating someone from a massive IP would soon be out. Many even commenting that it was Rian.
