‘Richmond GalaxyCon‘ is Coming

Richmond Galaxy Con

So with the turn of the calendar, we are off to the races in the year 2020. With that in mind, transitioning into February brings in one of Richmond Virginia’s most popular events: The Richmond GalaxyCon. This fan friendly show runs from Friday February 28th to Sunday, March 1st.

Last Years GalaxyCon

Last year’s event was my first ever comic convention and it was a great experience. Between the opportunities to talk to some of the great comic creators (my personal favorites), beloved celebrities, and wrestlers, there is something for everyone. The staff and guests were very friendly and easy to talk to and they were great.

This year will be no different. Once again you will find a diverse selection of celebrities, creators, voice-over performers and iconic wrestling greats. Here are just some of the celebrities that are scheduled to appear in the 2020 edition.

Captain Kirk beams in

The very first announcement made for this year’s GalaxyCon needed no introduction. (But he’s going to get one anyway). Whether it was as Captain Kirk in the original
Star Trek series, as T.J. Hooker in the series of the same name or starring in Boston Legal, William Shatner is known world wide and he is at GalaxyCon. Whether you get an autograph, photograph, or join his Q&A, it is a can’t miss opportunity.

More Star Trek

In addition for you
Star Trek:TNG fans, Levar Burton who played Geordi LaForge, Marina Sirtis who played Councilor Deanna Troi along with Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) are all scheduled to make an appearance. Not to be forgotten, Deep Space Nine is represented by Armin Shimmerman who played the Ferengi bar owner Quark. I had the good fortune of catching Michael Dorn and Terry Ferrell last year so these are a few more favorites off the Star Trek bucket list. I do regret that I missed talking to Rene Aberjunois last year as  he sadly passed away recently. With that in mind, if you are a Star Trek fan, don’t miss these opportunities.

The Punisher Infiltrates GalaxyCon

If you are a Punisher fan, then your wishes have come true as the Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal is scheduled to appear. Of course Bernthal also appeared on the Walking Dead, as did Cooper Andrews, Michael Rooker, and Nadia Hilker so that show is well represented. It’s a two-for deal.

A Visit to Smallville

Another former show that is making its presence known is the popular CW/WB series
Smallville. Appearances will include Clark Kent himself, Tom Welling, and Erica Durance who played Lois Lane. Also on hand will be Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) as well as John Glover (Lionel Luthor). So if you’re a Smallville fan, this might be a must visit event.

Flash Gordon

If you were a fan on the 1980’s film Flash Gordon,  you might have your geek dance card full as well. Because Flash Gordon himself, Sam Jones is here. In addition, Melody Anderson (Dale Arden), Ornella Muti (Princess Aura) and Brian Blessing (Prince Vultan) will be attending. In most cases, group photo ops for these celebrities and others are available for purchase both online and on site. More information and pricing can be found on the Richmond GalaxyCon Website.

Richmond GalaxyCon Awaits

So if you like comics, movies, wrestling and hanging out with likeminded individuals, the Richmond GalaxyCon is your place. Just like last year, GeekVibesNation will be on hand to take it all in and share what’s happening. And if you see a grey haired, distinguished looking gentleman with a GeekVibesNation lanyard hanging from his neck, come and say hello. We love to visit with our followers. Hope to see you there.🖖🏻
