With the Richmond GalaxyCon drawing nearer, plans are being finalized with schedules, photo-ops, and panels being established. We covered some of the celebrities that were appearing at this years event previously. So let’s look at some of the animation voice over talent coming to GalaxyCon from February 27th-March 1st.
Aladdin
For those fan’s of Disney’s original Aladdin, GalaxyCon brings the voices of Aladdin, Jasmine, and Iago to meet and greet. Scott Weinger who was the voice of Aladdin, Linda Larkin, the voice of Jasmine, and Gilbert Godfried who supplied the voice of Iago will all be there. But there’s more. Jonathan Freeman who voiced Jafar will also be in attendance as well as Frank Welker (Abu the Monkey, Raja the Tiger, and the Cave of Wonders). See below for more on Frank Welker. Photo-Ops with all of them will be available for those who want to get their Aladdin fix in.
Skeletor – Alan Oppenheimer
Fans of old school 80’s animation will be pleased that Alan Oppenheimer who voiced Skeletor for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe will be there. Attendees of my age will also recognize him as Dr. Rudy Wells in the Six Million Dollar Man. Yes, I’m THAT old.
A Voiceover Legend-Frank Welker
In addition, veteran voiceover talent Frank Welker will be in attendance. He was the voice of Megatron and Soundwave in The Transformers. But that just touches the edges of his career. He was the voice of Freddy in the original Scooby-Doo. Not to mention many animal voices including Gargamel from the Smurfs, and the Martians in Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks. His career covers so much that it is impossible to list it all here. Don’t miss a chance to visit with a legend in the voiceover business.
Optimus Prime-Peter Cullen
It’s obvious you cannot have Megatron without Optimus Prime. GalaxyCon knew that so Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime is there. He also has supplied the iconic voice of Eeyore from the Winnie the Poo franchise, and voice of KARR in the Knight Rider Television series. (By the way, KITT from that series will be there). So no matter which side of the Transformers battle your were on, Autobots or Decepticons, you’re covered.
These are just the highlights of those vocal talents attending. Just more reasons to check out the Richmond GalaxyCon. Naturally, Geek Vibes Nation will be there to cover the action. Hope to see you there.
