Rob Liefeld Gives His Blessing To Lena Headey Playing Lady Deadpool

It seems our friend Rob Liefeld has been a “chatty Kathy“ as of late.  He recently discussed his belief that Marvel has no plans for his Deadpool and X-Force properties. But in addition, he has commented on the possibility of Game of Thrones Lena Headey playing Lady Deadpool. Headley had put that out when she was asked if there was a comic book character she would like to play. Since Ryan Reynolds has the Deadpool character locked down, that leaves Lady Deadpool.

Lady Deadpool (Wanda Wilson) was a character that Liefeld created along with writer Victor Gischler. She was one of the members of the Deadpool Corps. This was team of alternate universe Deadpool’s gathered together to fight a cosmic entity called the Awareness. In the alternate universe that Wanda came from, the United States descended into a second civil war when fascists took control of the government. Lady Deadpool fights on the rebel side of the war.  Other members of the Deadpool Corps include Headpool (the severed head of Marvel Zombies Deadpool), Kid Deadpool, and Dogpool. When it comes to Headey as Lady Deadpool, he’s all for it…and so am I. He expressed this in a recent interview with Comicbook.Com.

Bring it on baby, bring it on! Bring it on. Lady Deadpool is fantastic. She’s ridiculously popular as well. Also slightly underused I think.

Of course, he doesn’t expect to see The Deadpool Corps anytime soon. He places it just like the possibility of a third Deadpool film, that it will not happen. The blame, he believes, is Marvels.

I blame Marvel…blame Marvel that that hasn’t happened yet. They are the reason it isn’t happening. Whatever conundrum or it didn’t fit into your master plan, just commission it. Okay, commission it. You know if Frank Frazetta was still around, you would say, ‘Frank paint for me. If Ryan isn’t making Deadpool 3 right now, that’s because Marvel hasn’t allowed it to be yet and that’s all I’m saying. So, do I have a lot of faith in that system? Dude, I have no idea.

Would you like to see the Deadpool Corps make an appearance in the MCU? If so, how would Lena Headey do in the role of Lady Deadpool? Share your casting ideas with us on Twitter at @GeekVibesNation
