Robert Downey Jr. Announces The Footprint Coalition During Amazon’s Re:Mars Conference

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”23645″ img_size=”608×342″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Robert Downey Jr. has had a long career in the film industry and has had a real rebirth of his career with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actor used his opening keynote for Amazon’s Re:Mars conference to announce the launching of a new organization called The Footprint Coalition. This organization will use advanced technologies to improve the environment. The Footprint Coalition will launch in April, 2020.

Downey stated:

“Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years. God I love experts. They’re like Wikipedia with character defects,” he joked.

Can anyone hear Tony Stark speak during this?

While no real examples of how the organization will achieve their goals, Downey hopes that even a small dent can be made. During his talk, he even admitted how he has contributed to the climate crisis that we have:

“I have this quiet sense of crisis. I’m a one-man carbon footprint nightmare colossus.”

Downey Jr. has also been working with his wife on a docu-series that will explore the impact AI has on people’s lives for Youtube.
