Ron Perlman talks about getting Hellboy 3 off the ground for the fans and that Guillermo del Toro had a fantastic idea on how to close the story of Hellboy.

During the interview Ron Perlman said,

“I felt like we owed the fans closure, and there were too many people moving in too many other directions and I just couldn’t pull it off,” he admitted, “so if you ask me about it, it’s kind of still an open wound.”

When asked if the rug had been pulled from beneath him, Ron Perlman replied,

“I never thought it was going through, but I did know that Guillermo had an amazing idea of how to close the trilogy. It was theatrically so dynamic. If you were a fan of the first two Hellboys, not only were you going to have the top of your head blown off by how it resolved, but you were going to get the payoff in the investment because it was always designed to be a trilogy.”

During the interview, it was also asked if David Harbour called for any advice. Ron Perlman replied,

the publicized dinner between the two stars was arranged by Patton Oswalt, and that Harbour hasn’t phoned him for advice. That said, Perlman would “take the call” if David Harbour calls.

Just like Ron Perlman, I am pretty upset that we did not get a full trilogy. I’m one of the few people that loved both versions of  Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy film.
