Ruby Rose Says Being Cast As ‘BATWOMAN’ Is A Game Changer

News broke earlier this week that model/actress Ruby Rose (John Wick 2, The Meg) had been cast as CW’s Batwoman. During a visit to the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Rose opened up about her getting the call and how excited she is about the role. Ruby was very emotional and tried to hold back the tears as she told Jimmy about how and when she found out she had been cast:

“I found out about an hour before the premier for The MEG and I was so nervous during the red carpet that I basically skipped everybody because I was worried that, I kept spontaneously crying”

She went on to say she is very excited and that she kept getting emotional because “growing up, watching TV I never saw someone I could identify, with let alone a superhero”. Ruby was very passionate in her words about the role and it showed during her conversation with Fallon. You can catch part of her interview with Fallon in the Twitter post below.

Ruby also told Fallon that she used to dress up as Batwoman as a child:

“I made bat wings out of cardboard boxes and I would jump off high things and my mom would have to catch me”

I am excited to see Ruby’s take on Batwoman and cannot wait to see her realize her dream of wearing the costume. Batwoman is set to make her debut on Arrow this Fall and her on solo show is currently being developed for CW by Greg Berlanti. How do you feel about this news?
