Ruby Rose Cast as ‘Batwoman’!

Hello, we have found our Batwoman! The news just dropped within minutes, revealing that actress/model Ruby Rose has officially been cast to portray Batwoman in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event. Following her appearance in the crossover, Rose will then star as Katherine Kane in the in the works Batwoman series. Batwoman will be the first superhero show on network television to feature a lesbian superhero on a public network. Rose, who is gay herself; will be a great step forward to inclusive in television/comic book media.

Ruby Rose became everyone’s secret crush when she made an appearance in Orange is the New Black. After making everyone out there question their sexuality, Rose then went on to participate in such projects as John Wick: Chapter Two, and Pitch Perfect 3. She is also starring in the Meg, with Jason Statham. With someone who draws in such a wide crowd as Ruby Rose, I have no doubt she will be great as Kate Kane, and hopefully show network execs that it is time to be more inclusive with their programs.

Caroline Dries will be helming the Batwoman series, having formally been the executive producer for the other very well-known and acclaimed CW show, The Vampire Diaries. There have been no intentions of bringing Batman into the Arrowverse, but with a new era comes new superheroes and Batwoman could be a great addition to the lineup. CW has had great success with their DC shows, especially Black Lightening, which does no belong, though; in the Arrowverse.

The Batwoman series is expected to premiere sometime in early 2019.
