RUMOR: Ben Affleck Not In Matt Reeves ‘Batman’ and Done With the DCU?

Day 255 and the Ben Affleck “Will He or Won’t He” Saga continues. The latest round of Ben Affleck is done with DCU and/or will not be in Matt Reeves’ The Batman comes from Forbes own Mark Hughes personal Twitter page;

He was then asked if this was confirmed and Mark responded;

Nothing from Warner Bros., DC Entertainment, or Ben Affleck himself has been stated on the actors status. Rumors about Ben leaving really go back to when John Campea made his announcement on YouTube that he heard that Ben was done and wanted out. Also Casey Affleck went radio show WEEI Sports to promote his upcoming film A Ghost Story when he was asked about Ben playing Batman and Casey blurted out,

“I thought he was an OK Batman. No, I thought he was great. He was great. He’s a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he’s not going to do that movie, I don’t think. Sorry to say. Is that breaking news? Because I was just kind of making that up, I don’t know.”

Casey would later say back track on that comment maybe fearing that he had said too much. So much back and forth with this and nothing concrete has been announced. Perhaps Warner Bros. is waiting for something more official on Matt Reeves Batman before they announce that Ben is leaving. Reports from our friend Mario Robles indicate that Matt Reeves wants someone younger to play Batman. Even if Ben does not play Batman in the Matt Reeves films, which is a huge mistake if you ask me, that does not mean that Ben could not stay on to play the older Batman in other films. It would be an absolute damn shame to not have a solo Affleck Batman film though.
