Rumor Has It That Dr. Loomis Might Appear In Upcoming ‘Halloween Kills’

As any fan of horror movies will tell you, death is not always the end of a character. This adage is especially true in our current reboot culture where franchises are bringing back all of your favorite characters. Actor Donald Pleasence has long been an essential part of the Halloween saga with his portrayal of Dr. Loomis in multiple films. While Pleasance unfortunately passed away in 1995, the recent Halloween reboot brought his voice back for a small cameo. According to reports, the creative team might be looking to expand upon that in the upcoming Halloween Kills.

Dark Universe reports that a source who has seen an initial test screening of the movie has revealed that Dr. Loomis will be included in a flashback sequence to the 1978 film. It is currently unknown if they would be simply repurposing stock footage from the original shoot or if they might use some digital trickery to expand upon the character’s involvement in the story.

Returning characters is nothing new to the current Halloween saga that is playing out. Jamie Lee Curtis returned to her iconic role as Laurie Strode in the latest movie, and it has already been announced that Kyle Richards is returning to the franchise for the first time in more than 40 years as Lindsey Wallace, who Curtis’ Laurie Strode was watching over on Halloween night in the original film. Nancy Stephens is also returning as Nurse Marion, who appeared in the original film’s opening sequence when it was discovered that Michael Myers had escaped a mental institution.

What do you think about the potential return of Dr. Loomis? If he does appear, how much would you want him to be involved? Sound off over on Twitter!
