While everyone likes to think it’s popular to dislike the Star Wars prequel films, you cannot deny the iconic performances by several actors in that trilogy. One being Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan, who is literally getting his own series on Disney+. The other is Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker. A performance that is so engrained in Star Wars, his likeness has been used for several animated series. Now, Hayden is coming back for the upcoming Kenobi series. You heard that right, Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin for Disney+.
LRM shares that Hayden will be a regular in the series. Which, would be cool considering the bond that the two actors had in the prequel trilogy. Keep in mind, though; that the Kenobi series will take place after Anakin has already become Darth Vader. How he will become Anakin again remains to be seen. Flashbacks? Force Ghost? Dream sequences? We’ll have to wait to find out.
Kenobi is set to start production in 2021 – if all goes well. Since nothing official is confirmed, we will run this as a rumor. But, LRM seems confident in this source. I’m personally hoping this is one grain of salt that will pay off.
