Rumor: Mindhunter Season Three On Hold Until David Fincher Finishes Upcoming Movie

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”32086″ img_size=”900×500″][vc_column_text]Mindhunter has given viewers two solid seasons. As one of the standouts in Netflix’s library, Mindhunter fans will have to wait for season three. David Fincher serves as the showrunner for the addictive crime show, but he won’t work on it until his next movie is done. His upcoming film is called Mank, written by Fincher’s late father. As the biopic of Citizen Kane’s screenwriter German J. Mankiewicz, it will star Gary Oldman. Tom Burke, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Tuppence Middelton, and Tom Pelphrey will also join.

While the cast for Mank looks great, what about Mindhunter? In a recent article from the Hollywood Reporter, they reported:

“Talk of a third season of Mindhunter is on hold while Fincher focuses on his next feature.”

Remember that there were two years in between the first and second seasons. While we will have to wait for season three, Fincher has expressed confidence that the series can last five seasons. According to Slash Film, Fincher told Mindhunter star Holt McCallany:

“Listen, are you ready to do this for five seasons? Because even if I fuck it up, it’s gonna go five seasons, and I don’t intend to fuck it up.”

Whether Netflix greenlights that or not is a different story. Have you been watching Mindhunter? What did you think of the second season?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
