A Thundercats movie is greenlit over at Warner Bros. Adam Wingard, who directed Godzilla vs. Kong; will be helming the project.
This is just a rumor, as there’s no word as to how far along the project is, but apparently Twitter insider, Daniel Richtman, says Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds is being eyed for a role in the Thundercats movie. He does not specify for which role but an actor of Ryan’s stature surely would have to be looked at for the role of Lion-O. There are some other names rumored for the film including, Vin Diesel and Millie Bobby Brown.
Thundercats was a cartoon that started in 1985 and launched an entire franchise that has been beloved by generations. How a live-action movie will translate on screen, who knows. But, it will be interesting to see how and who actually plays these iconic characters.
