Ryan Andes has lent his voice to many different projects. Whether it’s voicing Shockwave and Grimlock on Transformers: Cyberverse, English dubs for non-English spoken films, or even some commercials, Andes’ talent can be seen all over the place. His latest project? Voicing the character John Book for the Audible adaptation of the 1980s Harrison Ford movie Witness.

Witness originated in 1985 and starred Harrison Ford, playing a detective who has to project a young Amish boy who witnessed a murder conducted by other cops. In the movie, Ford’s character has to take shelter amongst the Amish and throughout the movie, develops feelings for the boy’s mother. In the Audible adaptation, Andes plays John Book, and throughout ten episodes is able to pull off a performance that feels like listening to a movie.

In a recent interview, I got to speak to Andes about this role. Here’s a small bit of him explaining the premise for the Audible show:

But the guys who kill the guy don’t realize that they’ve just, that there’s been a witness to this thing. And so the, they have to go to the cops and the main cop, that’s in charge of the investigation is John Book, who, uh, of course is played by Harrison Ford. I don’t want to give too much away, but as the story unravels, you kind of find out that the guys who killed the guy who turned out to be, uh, a cop working on undercover case, uh, are also cops who John Book knows, and they come after him and the kid, uh, which means they have to go into hiding, and they do so by escaping to Lancaster County and living with the Amish.
