Sean Gunn Clarifies if He’s in Brother James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14597″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While James Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn has been a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, having an even bigger role in the second installment as Kraglin. Now that James Gunn is writing and directing DC’s upcoming The Suicide Squad, people are wondering if the other Gunn will be joining. During a Captain Marvel premiere, Sean explained how he didn’t turn down the “idea” of participating in the project.

“It’s interesting to me as an artist. It’s even more interesting as a brother,” Sean said about the situation. “My brother and I have worked together in many capacities, since we were kids. If he wants me to do something, I will do it.”

Sean, though; did clarify that despite this, that the two of them do have separate career paths in mind:

“But one of the things I respect most about him is that he’s a storyteller first and foremost,” the actor continued. “So he’s not going to try to cram me in there if I don’t belong. If he has a part for me, I’d be happy to go do it, but we also have our separate careers and I’m doing my own thing as well, so we’ll just see what happens there.”

And for those wondering if this means no more Kraglin in the MCU, Sean let everyone know that he doesn’t believe that we’ve seen the last of his Guardians character:

“I have a very strong feeling that Kraglin’s story is not complete,” Gunn admitted. “So I think we are going to hear more from Kraglin.”

Although James Gunn is no longer a part of Marvel due to tweets over a decade ago, his script will still be used for the third installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Considering the movie has been pushed back and a director to replace Gunn has not been found, it is still nice to know Sean still wants to be involved and give fans a great performance when we do get to see Kraglin again. Are you looking forward to GoTG Vol 3 and James Gunn taking on The Suicide Squad?
