Shameless is a very popular series that has garnered a lot of fans throughout the years. While it ran for a long time, all good things must come to an end. At the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, Showtime announced that the series has been renewed for an eleventh and final season.
Executive Producer John Wells expressed:
“I’m unbelievably thankful for all of the years of support from [Showtime President of Entertainment] Gary Levine and everyone at Showtime that’s allowed us to make Shameless. It’s been a fantastic experience and all of us in the cast and crew have had a wonderful time following the lives of the Gallagher family and friends. It’s been a pleasure!”
Shameless is a remake of a British show with the same name that also ran for 11 seasons. Both shows center around the very dysfunctional family, the Gallaghers; with the always drunk Frank at the helm. Frank is played by William H. Macy and the show also stars Jeremy Allen White, Shanola Hampton, and Cameron Monaghan. Emmy Rossum had left the series after nine seasons.
